The Far Eastern University (FEU), Manila can trace its origins back to 1919 and the foundation of the Far Eastern College. A merger between the College and the Institute of Accounts, Business and Finance resulted in the creation of the university in 1933/34. With an increased demand for engineers and technology experts, an Institute of Technology was founded in 1936, offering courses in engineering, chemistry and architecture. In 1970, the FEU Institute of Architecture and the Fine Arts was established and took over the teaching of architecture.
