Eshetu Abebe is recorded as an Ethiopian student enrolled on the 1967-68 postgraduate ‘Educational Building’ course run by the Architectural Association’s (AA) Department of Development and Tropical Studies, in London. He successfully completed the course and was formally awarded his Tropical Diploma in July 1968. His AA thesis, co-written with course mate Peter Thurner, entitled ‘Climatic Design Standards for Schools in Ethiopia’, is retained within the AA Archives. Details of his early education and subsequent career are not yet known to us beyond the fact that in 1969 his correspondence address was a location in Addis Ababa.
