Bedford Square, the last fully intact Georgian Square in London, has served as the home of the Architectural Association (AA) since 1917. Originally occupying just 34 and 35 Bedford Square, the AA now inhabits all of the buildings from 32 to 39, with number 36 serving as the main public entrance. A network of historic stairs and converted corridors provide access to rooms, workshops, courtyards and terraces. These prior domestic spaces now hold a diverse range of discourse, learning and academic development.

In addition to its premises on Bedford Square, the AA also occupies two further Georgian buildings at 1 and 1A Montague Street in London, which house both academic programmes and administrative departments. Just off the southern corner of Russell Square and adjacent to the British Museum, these buildings are a seven-minute walk from 36 Bedford Square.
