Hooke Park is the Architectural Association’s woodland site in Dorset, southwest England. This 150-hectare working forest is owned and operated by the AA and contains a growing educational facility for design, making, construction and landscape-focused activities. The woodland here provides the primary source of timber for student design-and-build projects which are fabricated on-site in our workshops and assembly spaces. Alongside this, we are working to improve Hooke Park’s ecological resilience through a progressive 100-year strategy for forest management, as part of our ongoing forestry research programme.
Hooke Park is used year-round by the AA as the main site of its Design and Make taught postgraduate programme (MArch/MSc), as well as for visits by the school’s London-based students, and for short courses, residential workshops and public events.
