Heiko Kalmbach

Heiko works as a filmmaker, stage director and video artist. Teaching in his fields of practice since the mid-90s, he has been associated with the AA’s Interprofessional Studio since 2009 and has been a tutor for media design at TU Berlin since 2012. He is cofounder of EXIT Deutschland, which trains facilitators in the method of expressive arts in transition, a group methodology to stabilise people suffering from immediate stress or trauma. In 2021–22 Heiko led the Creative Hub within ICPA Berlin’s Strategic Communications Incubator. He currently creates video design and executes set design for Zwei Herren von Real Madrid at Schauspiel Hannover and cocurated the exhibition series The Tree Trunk at Edvard Munch Haus Warnemünde in Germany.
