Fenella was a painter before studying architecture at the AA. She designed social housing with Project 35 and for many years worked with Peter Salter as an associate designer on the award-winning project Walmer Yard, which was published in the Architectural Review, Architects’ Journal, The Observer and Domus. Fenella and Peter were invited to exhibit at the 2018 Venice Biennale and Sir John Soane’s Museum, London in 2019. She has led units at the AA, Royal College of Art, University of East London, the Bartlett School of Architecture (UCL) and Cardiff University. Fenella has lectured for the AA Colour Symposium, the Bartlett International Lecture Series and the Pratt Institute. Each year, Fenella runs a colour workshop on the AA Foundation course with Antoni Malinowski and continues to make small building projects. Published work includes Peter Salter Walmer Yard, on materials (2017), Four Houses, on quietness (2017) and Drawing Walmer Yard (2016).
