
Emily is an architect and writer. She studied at The Bartlett School of Architecture (UCL), receiving a BSc with Honours, and at the Architectural Association for her Diploma. She worked in practice at OMMX and 6a architects on projects including a major exhibition for the V&A Museum, the refurbishment of South London Gallery Fire Station and Tate Liverpool. She has experience in technical design and construction, and has worked on several listed buildings. Emily writes from a curiosity towards the differences in the ways we build and use the built (and unbuilt) environment. Her writing has been published in the UK and Europe for Drawing Matter, RIBA Journal, the Architecture Foundation, Robida magazine, Hinterlands magazine, Scroope (published by the University of Cambridge), Folly journal and AArchitecture. She has written about construction site furniture, croissants, cars, the Black Country, the M1 motorway and tarpaulin. Emily was previously a Technical Tutor for Master’s students at Oxford Brookes and is a First Year Design Tutor at The Bartlett School of Architecture.
