Ángel is Head of Digital Prototyping at the AA’s Digital Prototyping Lab (DPL). He is an architect and researcher with an interest in digital fabrication, and holds a Master’s in advance architecture digital tectonics from IAAC and a Bachelor’s in architecture from UNAM in Mexico. Ángel has overseen the growth and renovation of the DPL, notably its 2018 expansion. He has collaborated with various programmes across the school, inserting digital fabrication workflows into the academic curriculum, and has cowritten research papers for the AA Summer DLAB. He contributed ‘D for Digital’ to An Alphabet of Architectural Models (Merrell, 2021) and is a senior architect at architecture office ASPA-KST, working on projects of different scales and integrating his digital fabrication experience.
