Admin History: The recording is of the 4th lecture in the series entitled 'The Poetics of Cliche', given by Mark Cousins as part of the AA Open Lecture series, 2011-2012. In this lecture, Mark Cousins focuses upon the emergence of the idea of language as a discourse in Nineteenth Century. He examines issues relating to language, power and control, the production of 'normality' and notions of 'the inappropriate'.
Custodial History: Original recording (format unknown) was made by the AA Audio Visual Department and a digital copy (.iso format) has been retained on the department's servers since c2013.
